Tobie van Heerden moved back to South Africa to join 10X as CEO, after 10 years in Asia running the Middle East and SE Asia businesses for Ninety One (formerly Investec Asset Management). Tobie is an actuary and, during his time abroad, he completed a Leadership Excellence through Awareness and Practice qualification from INSEAD, the global leadership school. He plans to apply his skills and experience gained overseas to help to make wealth creation more accessible and attainable for South Africans. Prior to moving to Asia, Tobie was head of Investec Asset Management’s South African Institutional Business. He has also held positions at Alexander Forbes and African Harvest Fund Managers.
Anton recently returned to South Africa from the UK, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in asset management, both in global investing and building a business. He was drawn back home by a passion to build a business that contributes to society and makes investing simple and accessible. He was previously CIO of Legal & General Investment Management, based in London. In his time at LGIM, he led a team of 350 people across multiple regions and asset classes, and played a key role in transforming the firm into a $1.3 trillion global asset manager. At 10X, Anton draws on well-established global themes, such as sustainable investing and indexing strategies, to drive 10X’s investment offering forward.
Gareth is the managing director of CoreShares - a leading South African passive investment management business and has led the business from inception. CoreShares manages a number of index funds and ETFs. CoreShares follows an Evidence based investment philosophy. Gareth has an MBA from Wits Business School and has over 18 years' financial services experience across structured finance, investment management and banking
Michelle joined CoreShares in May 2019 as the Client Coverage Executive. Prior to this, she spent 13 years working in the Financial Services sector in London, where she specialised in ETFs and passive investment solutions (working at iShares and BNP Paribas among others). Michelle graduated with Honours in Business Science from the University of Cape Town in 2004, majoring in Finance and Financial Accounting. Later, she was admitted as a CFA Charterholder in 2010. Michelle is passionate about serving clients and creating cost-effective investment solutions that consistently achieve the best possible returns.
